Reusable Nappies

Tots Bots EasyFit Star: Elements 2016

The Tots Bots Easyfit Star nappy is the latest 2016 version of the incredibly popular easyfit nappy. Previously, we’ve seen V1-4 with various changes and adaptations along the way. I’m going to talk a bit about the features and benefits and also introduce you (if you missed them) to the awesome new prints; Soar, Bumbrella and Dazzle.

If you follow my Instagram I make no secret of my love for Tots Bots. They are based in Scotland and their nappies are produced ethically within the UK. They are well known for their beautiful prints and I have collected quite a few (okay, nearly all of them) along the way. However, the first time I got the new ‘Star’ nappy I was in fluffy love. This version is so very different to all the others in design, feel, comfort and efficacy. Not surprisingly, its an award winner, and recently won ‘Gold’ in the Mother & Baby Awards in the ‘best reusable nappy’ category (again).

So what’s so good about it?  It’s simple for starters. A nice easy all in one, perfect for people new to cloth or childcare providers. It is birth to potty so technically (if you’re not a crazy nappy lady like me), you only need one set of nappies to last the duration, therefore an economical option. The inner fabric is soft Bamboo but it features a microfibre core which speeds up drying times (which lets face it, is pretty important during these winter months). It’s the same combination as their award winning Bamboozle Stretch, which makes a fantastic night time nappy as a two part system with a separate wrap. The lovely soft outer layer is made of PUL (waterproof fabric) and this is what keeps the moisture away from clothes. Of course, the best bit is the awesome prints.

This is definitely my ‘trusty’ go to nappy. It is so easy to use, especially for out and about. If I know we are going to be without easy changing facilities for a while this would easily be my choice and can last 4-5 hours with no leaks. Interestingly, my hubby also always reaches for these when he’s changing Eli – make what you will of that!

At A Glance

  • One piece system – no assembly required, waterproof layer and absorbent core attached ‘like a disposable’
  • New ‘no escape’ Bamboo Buffer Zone – great performance, fewer changes
  • New clever stitch free seams for maximum on the bum performance – no leaks!
  • Slim-fitting
  • New ultra-soft bamboo core – soft, natural, super absorbent, no chemicals next to babies skin
  • Hook and Loop fastening – durable, easy on/off
  • New waterproof ‘tummy zone’ – keeps wetness in the core of the nappy
  • One size fits most – economical

Elements 2016: Soar, Bumbrella and Dazzle

This collection of prints was launched in November and has not disappointed Tots Bots fans. The three prints are bold, bright and beautiful. All three prints are bright colours on white background which gives them a really fresh feel (and personally something I love in a nappy). Soar features kites, Bumbrella umbrellas (of course) and Dazzle is a super sunny print. It is available in Easyfit Star, Teenyfit star, Peanutwet bags and the happy mat (which I will be talking about at a later date).

In Summary:

Pros:

  • All in one
  • Snaps to adjust rise (fit for different ages)
  • Super absorbant bamboo
  • Leak free system
  • Easy Velcro Fastening
  • No chemicals on baby
  • Good for childcare
  • Can be washed at 60 degrees
  • Gorgeous prints

Cons:

  • Not available in Poppers
  • Core fabric must be tucked in well otherwise ‘wicking’ will occur
